Once upon a time there were two friends, Madhav and Parth. Out of the two, Madhav was very sentimental. The outside world meant a lot to him, which included all the people he knew and cared about be it his family, his friends, or his acquaintances. His friend Parth, on the other hand, was more of an analytical sort of a person who has seen Madhav go through the toughest of his times.

Madhav had an amazing day today. He went out and had achieved something very precious, he had made someone happy. So he comes back and shares his excitement with Parth. This made both of them share a common excitation following which Parth tells Madhav something very astounding, something which deals with the current situation Madhav is shackled in. He quotes;

"Good Madhav! Good! I am very happy for you!
I just have one thing to say to you, stay at peace whenever you face a hysteria.
Don't let any kind of emotions cloud your thoughts.
If you ever feel like there is a force that is hindering your abilities to think clearly,
or when you have no one to share your grief or loss,
or if sometime you feel like there is no place on this massive world for you.
Just remember one thing my friend, your peace is in your hands
It has always been since you were a small child trying hard to crawl, to walk, to run but failing and still not giving up.
Because you hoped you will learn one day, and when you did you were at peace with it.
The spirit was there when you were a child but you eventually forgot.
The spirit of never giving up, the hope that drove you unconsciously, the peace, it was there all the time. It still is and will always stay inside you.
All you have to do is keep looking for it because your peace has always been and will always be in your hands."

Peace!

The Story of Human and the Role of Ego.

Let me tell you a story. A story about Human. Who is he? What he seeks? How is he different from an animal? Let us learn about the Human through this story.

An animal hunts for food, and a human hunts for meaning. A human keeps on searching for "Artha" or "meaning" of his life.
But the fact that he is living is what life means. The fact that he is alive, the fact that he lives and enjoys each and every moment in his life is the true meaning of life. But when the human starts looking at himself from other's eyes is when "Aham" or "Ego" is born. When he seeks popularity, fame, acceptance, adoration, is when he lets Ego take over. Ego, though a small word, but holds great significance. You might wonder what great amount of significance it might hold, but when it plays its role it only alleviates feelings like anger, hatred, arrogance. And when these feelings take hold it becomes really hard to survive. And consequently the meaning of life fades away, and the human now seems quite jumbled in his own thoughts. This makes the human constantly searching for the meaning of his life, which he already knows but is unaware of that.

Our ego plays an immense role in creating emotional drama in our lives. I know a man who thought of himself as the most supreme. He considered everyone else beneath him, and considered his race to be the only one qualified to live. Every other race either dies or serves him as slaves. You want to know who that man was, he was Adolf Hitler. What happened to him is history. All his life he kept searching for the meaning of his life, which when he was unable to find, he had no other option than to surrender himself at the hands of life.

Our ego shadows our wisdom. It makes our wisdom biased towards ourselves. When we behave badly towards someone, it then starts contradicting our own behaviour by telling us what we just did was bad. But not that way, rather saying the thing you just did was stupid, how can you do such a stupid thing? Suddenly the ego becomes the "righteous self", knowing everything. Rather than making you realize what is wrong and what is right, the voices in your head start making you feel guilty of what you have done. The person would definitely go and apologize for his mistreatment, but he won't understand the significance of that apology.

The human somehow has managed to label his ego in terms of its nature. If his personality turns ugly, he calls it ego. If one sees himself as "I am ugly", one would not want to be that way anymore. But that should not be the way. Whatever is beautiful or ugly it is the in the same person as you are. If you create a difference between your personalities, then you would always be in control of the negative emotions. No transformation in your character will be possible. If the person starts believing that whatever nonsense he is, whether the beautiful or the ugly in him are both him, then what is ugly will start changing.

There is a very famous personality who once said, "Today in the world people only have ego sense, they have no life sense. When you are like this, you only see yourself as life, no one else is life. But if you are life sensitive, everything is life in your experience, so you naturally behave very sensibly with every other life around you. The ego will no longer be a problem if you become life sensitive." Therefore in order to live in peace with yourself and in harmony with life and in order to understand the meaning of life, you will have to understand yourself and you will have to transform and become a true human.

The Story of Resilience.

Scientifically
"Resilience is the process of adapting well in the face of adversity, trauma, tragedy, threats or significant sources of stress — such as family and relationship problems, serious health problems or workplace and financial stressors."
Generally
"It means "bouncing back" from difficult experiences."

The death of a loved one, loss of a job, serious illness, terrorist attacks and other traumatic events: these are all examples of very challenging life experiences. Many people react to such circumstances with a flood of strong emotions and a sense of uncertainty. Emotional pain and sadness are common in people who have suffered major adversity or trauma in their lives. In fact, the road to resilience is likely to involve considerable emotional distress. Most of the people succumb to such pressures and hurt themselves and in some cases even kill themselves. This is not being resilient, this is failing in their attempts to be one.

Then how do people deal with difficult events that change their lives?
People do that, we all have done that in some or the other way. We just don't recognize that we are doing it, that we are getting stronger, that we are being resilient. Being resilient does not mean that a person doesn't experience difficulty or distress. He/She does experience deep distress. Its the way they deal with the surroundings during their period of distress. Resilience is not a trait that people either have or do not have. Its not a characteristic that will make others judge you. It involves behaviours, thoughts and actions that can be learned and developed in anyone. Resilience is an ongoing process that requires time and effort and engages people in taking a number of steps. Steps which seem very difficult at the beginning, but eventually change your perception into a very positive one.

A challenge or a loss tests people's behaviour towards life and that is what makes them resilient. Whatever may be the situation, however bad it may be. If one decides not to give up, if one decides to keep going, if one chooses to be resilient, nothing in this world can break Him/Her.
